About War Legends:
Palak: I’m Palak, and I’m going to be the host of today’s AMA. We’re excited to be joined by Daniel, CCO at War Legends and Play Chain. I would like to ask Mr. Daniel to introduce himself to our audience.
Daniel: Yes, sure. I’m Daniel, I’ve been working with games for 15 years. I have about 22 release titles and 4 billion combined downloads. Yeah, I’ve been doing a lot of games, mobile, pc, and now I’m in a combination of both, so that’s pretty exciting.
Palak: Thank you, Mr. Daniel, for that quick introduction. War Legends is a game that sets itself apart by utilizing the latest in blockchain technology, allowing players to truly own and control their in-game assets. It’s a unique blend of action tank combat and strategic mobile gameplay that creates a new level of depth and excitement So, the first question can you tell us what legend is and what sets it apart from other MOBA games?
Daniel: Okay. Um, so, um, imagine World War II never ended. It only evolved; new genius weapons and defenses were invented, and now it’s up to you and your friends to take on the enemies in, uh, this four, vs four tanks based, um, world War ii, theme MOBA. And the way you do this is with a combination of tanks, heroes, and abilities. All of these NFTs, you can combine them in millions of ways. There are a lot of really interesting strategies, but the heroes give you a passive ability and they choose what types of abilities you can use, and you get to choose five of them. So that’s pretty crucial. So it’s a way of setting up, um, your character before the game by yourself. The tanks are like the base stats. So they have things like speed, damage, armor, reload, speed, and capacity, for bombshells. Every time you choose one element of this, you’re changing your whole setup, right? So you can do something, um, that is a long-range, standing in the back, trying to snipe the enemy kind of thing. You can do something that’s very close combat with like a flame throw and high armor or you could do a support role where you’re just trying to buff and heal your teammates and support them with minds and visibility on the map, for example.
How War Legends work and NFTs in War Legends:
Palak: Okay. And that sounds very interesting. So can you tell us how the game works?
Daniel: Yes, definitely , it’s a 4 vs 4 tank game where you’re all level one, and you’re trying to take out the enemy. So you’re trying to take it out before the enemy is taking you out. So there’s a lot of strategy in the sense of, uh, both being offensive, while trying to defend your base as well. Each level has three lanes. We’re experimenting with some that have two, um, but in general, there are three lanes and it’s your goal to take out towers in each lane, and then there’s a generator behind it. When you kill it, you start getting some super minions in that lane, and then you can sort of push your way into the base. Um, so it’s very similar to, games like League of Legends or Dota, but well, in a Tank World War II theme. Right.
Palak: Great, so what does War Legends visualize for gamers? What kind of experience do you want to create for them?
Daniel: So, War Legends is a combination of two games. The original idea was to take League of Legends and World of Tanks and combine them. So it has, uh, some more realistic elements, and it has a lot of World War II elements that a lot of people love. So we’re bringing some realism into the MOBA space, but in general, it is a fast-paced, highly strategic game. It’s very competitive, and we’re doing a ton of, uh, tournaments with very lucrative rewards and so on..
Palak: That sounds very exciting. Uh, as a gamer, you know, we always look out for that competitive side in every game we like to play. Can you tell us about the rewards also?
Daniel: Yes, definitely. So there are a few different ways you can get rewarded, but mainly it is through rank play and tournament play. So it’s skill-based. The better you are in the game, the more you’ll be earning. In India we have about 50 tournaments planned for the next month. So it’s like a lot going on there. And we’re planning some other big tournaments in other parts of the world as well. You can earn things by playing and just winning a game and you’ll earn NFTs and something called upgrade kits you use for upgrading your NFTs, so you can upgrade the rarity, um, and increase the value of the NFTs.
Team behind War Legends:
Palak: Great. Thanks for giving us an insight into that aspect of the game. Okay. Now we have a question about the team behind War Legends and what are their experiences.
Daniel: So I’m on as a creative lead, which means I’m just handling some of the higher level stuff but I have a lot of experience with games but there’s a guy on the team who has even more, he has 30 years of experience. He’s sort of a legend in, in Spanish game development. He’s leading the team and he’s doing a really good job at it. We didn’t have to switch anybody out yet, or anything like that.
Palak: Nice. That was a very, uh, informative and inspiring answer. Let’s move on to the next question . Can you talk about your new Beta version?
Beta version of War Legends:
Daniel: Yes, I can. So we released one like a few hours ago, which was a bad idea because it ruined some of the other parts of the game. But in general that we’re setting up a way for a system where, for example, Metanomy can do their tournament system. So you can set it up and you can play internally, you can play against other guilds, you can play against the developers. We can set it up in any way you want. We will supply some rewards there if you want to set up a tournament in the future. But as the main thing, then there are some bug fixes, uh, some new, um, character images and art upgrades and so on.
Palak: Well, uh, we are eagerly waiting for all the new updates you have for us. And yes, Metanomy will be going to organize a tournament for our players who are already MOBA fans. So moving on, what events do you have running now?
Daniel: So, um, first off, the weekly tournament is one of our main events, we’re gonna try and push a lot for that because it has some great rewards. You can win, mystery boxes that are worth $300.Then we have a few events in India as well like I mentioned .
Palak: All right. Uh, we are going to be anyway stay tuned to all of your usual media channels for all the latest updates. Alright, let’s, uh, move to the next question. Tell us about the War Legends partners.
Daniel: I was just putting a pitch deck together and there are, I think it’s 25 total and there are some cool ones in between there. And of course, you guys are one of them. Um, but, but every single one of them has done like AMAs and different ways of sharing communities, right? So we inform each other about all this. And we’re trying to build the community through all these partners
Palak: Okay. Our viewers want to know more about where they can find more about war legends, can you please tell us about that?
Daniel: So, there are a few different places like the socials. War Legend’s main website is where you can find links for all the socials, YouTube channels, uh, all of it there. On the website you’ll also be able to see like an overview of the game. You can see how the economy works. You can see how the heroes, the tanks, the abilities, all of their functions, the NFT systems and the game itself, the objective of the game, and so on.
War Legends Economy:
Palak: Can you cover some information about the monetization model?
Daniel: So war legends is, based on a single token economy. It is the war token. We’re earning this through game play and tournaments. And the better you do, the more you earn. This is mainly spent on, uh, loot boxes, which turn into NFTs. So the more you play, the more NFTs you get, and, the better your setup can be, right? Because these NFTs have different rarities, there’s common, rare, epic, and legendary. You can upgrade these through different systems in, in the game, or you can be unlocking and get them, um, like almost done in the, in the loot boxes, right? So that’s the core of the game, it is played to earn tokens, then spend it to upgrade, the NFTs and get even better in the leagues. The difference between a common item and a legendary item fully upgraded is about 80%. So it’s not crazy. It’s not like you can just buy it and you’ll automatically win. Skill will still win in this game, uh, especially since everybody will be building up the collections.
How War Legends is contributing to the Gaming space:
Palak: How does War Legends solve any current challenge being faced in the web3 gaming eco-system?
So one of the things that is a problem a lot in web3 games and play-to-win games is that the economies themselves are there’s a lot of inflation. There are inflations with the token, there’s inflation with the NFTs, and so on. So to counter that, we’ve set up a system for the NFTs,where you can, uh, you can burn these NFTs and you can turn them into something called dust. And dust can then be used, to upgrade your other NFTs. But it’s a way of making sure that the floor level of the NFTs on the,, auction house will will stay high because if anything goes super low, people will start buying the NFTs to turn them into dust instead of buying them to use the master item. There’s also an issue, which is that some of the projects are giving away too much of their currency at the start of the projects, or they’re using too many of them to reward the early players. We set it up in a way where for players to earn the maximum, they gotta put in a little bit. So there are some quests called special contracts, for example: you would pay, let’s say something like 500 war tokens and you would be able to win, uh, loot boxes for the value of maybe 1200 or 1500 war tokens. So you can, you can triple your money, but it’s already turned into NFTs instead of rewarding you in war tokens.
Palak: Thank you so much for answering my question. can you provide any insight into the challenges and opportunities that you faced as a founder of War Legends and how you plan to overcome them moving forward?
Daniel: So it’s the player base for Web3 ; it is not super large yet. It, it will get there at some point, but it’s cost by friction. In, the crypto world in general, it’s very hard for people to understand crypto and its very hard to understand the terminology and use the technology if you don’t know what you’re doing and have a lot of experience with it. So we’re trying, to counter some of this by simplifying all the different steps in the process. For example, we set it up in a way where right now it doesn’t require a wallet to play the game. You can play it for free and you get some free NFTs in the game, and if you ever win some stuff that you want to bring out, you can look into how to connect a wallet, bring it out and try and sell it.
Palak: Okay, perfect. How important is the community to your project?
Daniel: It is everything, all of it. There is no project without the community
Palak: Wow. That’s a great answer. So, do you have any messages for our viewers?
Daniel: You should check the game out. It’s free. You don’t have to spend anything to play it. And you can earn NFTs just by playing right now in the weekly tournament. You just try and get to the top 25 and you will get some NFTs there. If you like it, you might spend some more time there.
Palak: Okay. So, uh, thank you Mr. Daniel. That was a great response from your side.
Daniel: Very nice to hear. I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of, uh, new faces in the game.
Palak: Let us take up a few questions from the audience now .There’s a question, “how do you see War Legends in the next three to five years?”
Daniel: So if you go through the roadmap right now, you can see that in Q1 we’re planning on, on releasing the mobile version and after that, we’re gonna start looking into how to do this with ships planes. So we will have battleships and jet fighters, and at some point, we’ll combine it all into a full World War II metaverse.
In-game Currency and Blockchain Technology:
Palak: No worries. We are going to wait. Let’s move onto another question, “How do the in-game currency and blockchain technology work in war legends?”
Daniel: Yeah so it’s set up in a way where play chain, our parent company is they have a very nice system where we can make things instant as long as it’s in the, within our ecosystem. And then you just got to sign for a wallet when you pull it out to exchange or decks. So it’ll be very smooth and it’ll be very fast.
Palak: Nice. So there’s a question from MG, “ I read that the NFTs on the War Legends platform is a multipurpose tool. They may be used for trade battles and games, but, uh, how flexible are they? Is there a method to add other things to the NFTs to boost their stats, and price them, uh, for trading?”
Daniel: Yes. There’s a system in the game where you can set both the tier and the rarity. The rarity is being common, rare, epic, and legendary. And every single one of them has four tiers. So when you get to tier four, you’ll be able to upgrade the rarity by playing the game.
Palak: Okay. So one question ;between the last AMA and now, what has changed in the game? Most of our audience is mobile gamers. So when will the mobile version come out?
Daniel: Well, one thing that has changed, we did a test for mobile and it seems to be running pretty well. We’re upgrading some assets because the performance and game could be better. So we gotta make sure that everybody can, can play it, and then we have to redo some UI.
System Requirements for the game:
Palak: So the next question is from another viewer who wants to know about the system requirements for the game.
Daniel: So system requirements are not very high right now. We are still upgrading and optimizing the game to improve upon that, but the plan is to get it working on basically any computer .There’s a system being implemented, which automatically sets the settings that your computer can handle, so there will be a version where maybe you’re missing a little bit of the visual aspect, but you will be able to play the game. I think that’s very important that we include everybody.
Palak: That’s cool. Okay. Another question from our audience is about the game’s graphics and performance. Can you tell us more about the game’s technical specs and what players can expect in terms of performance?
Daniel: So it is a multiplayer game, and it’s all about being, uh, fast-paced and being able to, to have like Twitch movement, which, which means that it should be a very, very good performance, right? We are still working on performance. We will make it better, but it is, is already running on most machines.
Palak: We wish you luck with all of your plans. Next question, when is the game going to be released?
Daniel: So, PC version February 10th, mobile version, sometime within the next three months.
Palak: Some of our viewers are asking you the definition of a guild. What is the role of it in the entire economic ecology?
Daniel: So the role of guilds, in general, has sadly decreased a little bit because I think it was a powerful tool in the start but, it is still a big thing in the sense that it is a good way to bring a lot of people in. At the same time, it’s like a big organized organization, right? So you have a lot of people who will be able, to organize tournaments and so on.I think it’s a very powerful way of, going to market until the game can sustain itself. This is the most powerful way to get players.
USP of War Legends:
Palak: Okay. Uh, next question. There are countless NFT gaming projects available level right now, and some of them are successful. My question to war legends is, what are the main selling points of the project, and what innovations do they have to be successful, not only for the short term but for the long term?
Daniel: So, um, there’s, there are two elements in this. We’re trying to make games fun because if the game’s not fun, not even the play-to-earn players will play it for a very long time. So that’s our main goal here .And one of the most fun things in games is multiplayer. So we are putting a lot of focus on that with competitive tournaments and so on, and adding all the rewards into those systems in the long term the games will be able to sustain itself in the, through the marketplace.
Palak: All right. So guys, do you have any more questions? I think we already answered so many questions, right Mr. Daniel?
Daniel: Oh yeah.
Palak : Thank you so much for sharing your insights with us about you and War Legends with us. It was lovely having you.
Daniel: Thank you for having me.
Palak: Thank you again, Mr. Daniel.
Daniel: Thank you very much. It was a pleasure to be here.
